“Brian is alive and well.”
Paul Walker, along with the other original cast members, has been a big reason why the Fast & Furious franchise has been one of the most popular and successful in the movie business, with nine installments over a decade. So, the new director of the Fast & Furious movies, Louis Leterrier, kept Walker’s character in the upcoming sequel, Fast X, just like he did in the other movies. He said, “Brian is very much alive in the Fast & Furious world.”

Even though Walker died before Furious 7 came out, Brian has stayed in the series and is living a happy retirement thanks to CGI and the late actor’s two brothers, who acted as body doubles on set. Now that the franchise is racing towards the finish line, the director sat down with Total Film and addressed his thoughts on bringing Brian back in the upcoming sequel. He said:
“Well, Brian is still alive in the Fast & Furious world, and he’s been teased a lot in the earlier movies. In 9, we see the car coming. It’s something that is planned. This movie jumps back and forth between the past and the present. Brian will show up in the past, but not in the present. It’s something that everybody has to be on board with. You’ll see in this movie how the Walker family is still a big part of this series. It only needs to be the right time and tone.”

The director also talked about what James Wan did on the seventh movie in the series and said, “Brian has to come back to the series as well as he left it.” Since its first movie in 2001, when it was about street racing, Fast & Furious has come a long way. Its nine movies have been an exciting thrill ride. Now that the tenth installment and the next-to-last chapter are coming up, there will be new family members and a new bad guy who will cause trouble in the beloved franchise.

Since it began in 2001, the franchise has been a huge success, making $6.6 billion in sales. Furious 7, the seventh movie in the series, was the tenth highest-grossing movie of all time. The Fast & Furious movies are all about family, as Vin Diesel’s character says a lot. And the family (or enemies) isn’t shrinking. Rita Moreno, Brie Larson, and Jason Momoa are all new characters in Fast X, and each has a completely different role to play in the story as a whole.
