Famous for playing Monica on the timeless comedy TV show F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Courtney Cox has exciting news for all her fans who wish to see her return to the big screen. The diva recently teased her followers on Instagram by posting a video with a Ghostface, announcing the wrap-up of the shooting on Scream 6 sets.

Courtney Cox has officially confirmed that she will be making a comeback to the Scream franchise with its sixth installment. It was in 1996 when Courtney first ventured into the horror genre after she starred in the first ever Scream movie at the time when F.R.I.E.N.D.S. was a superhit on TV.

Only this year, Scream (2022) was released by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick as an attempt to revive the horror film franchise. It has been over 10 years since Scream 4 hit the cinemas in 2011 and was thought to be the last of the slasher film series. While the latest installment has proved to be a critical and financial success, Wes Craven has his eyes set on the sixth film of the series to complete his initial plan for a trilogy.

Details about the unnamed Scream 6 are limited but it has been confirmed that Hayden Panettiere and Courtney Cox will reprise their roles as the survivors in the upcoming movie. Other actors including Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding are also expected to be back while new cast members Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Dermot Mulroney, and Henry Czerny will be seen in new exciting roles.  Unfortunately, Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott is not returning for Scream 6. Reportedly, Scream 6 has been under production in Vancouver since June.

As exciting as it sounds, Courtney Cox has further revved up the social media excitement for the new slasher film. The reel video on Instagram shows Courtney sitting at her home when she looks at CCTV footage and spots a man wearing a Ghostface mask which is equally hilarious as terrifying. However, as soon as the Ghostface enters her living room, the screen turns black.

The video also features a throwback sequence from Scream 4 which is still vivid in the memories of the franchise’s diehard fans. The video hints how Gale’s character will have a significant role in the upcoming movie now that Dewey and Sidney won’t be there to save the day.

The short video has raised many questions and anticipation around Scream 6. The title of the film is not yet confirmed but IMDb has released a synopsis of Scream 6 so we can have an idea of what’s coming next:

“Four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start.”

While the series is expected to release in March 2023, we will try to keep a keen eye on all the happenings on the set of Scream 6 to give you latest updates, spoilers and much more!
