According to Variety, an eight-episode Sausage Party series is already in production for Prime Video, so if the racy antics of the 2016 animated food-fest weren’t enough for you, you’re in luck.
Seth Rogen, the film’s co-writer and actor, broke the news on Twitter on Wednesday, teasing that the voyeuristic celebration will continue with a “eight-course television extravaganza” in 2024.
Voice performers James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, and Michael Cera will all return for the Sausage Party: Foodtopia TV series. New voices will join the returning cast members, including Will Forte (Saturday Night Live), Sam Richardson (Veep), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure), and Yassir Lester (Making History).
Rogen and his co-writer Evan Goldberg told Variety, “Film used to be the superior art form to television, and we humbly hit the top of what can be accomplished with film with our astounding opus, Sausage Party.”
“The film industry may be extinct, but television will always reign supreme, so we’ve chosen to continue the epic exploits of our culinary team in the soon-to-be-legendary televised masterpiece Sausage Party: Foodtopia. There’s three times as much food-on-food sex as there are puns and twice as much love. That is to say, it’s just what the world needs at the present time.”
In addition to Rogen and the other Sausage Party cast members, the executives in charge are “thrilled” about the possibilities of Foodtopia.

“The first Sausage Party cartoon was a groundbreaking, creative, and humorous addition to the animation industry. We’re thrilled to work with Seth, Evan, and the rest of the Point Grey crew again, as well as our partners at Annapurna Television and Sony Pictures Television, to bring this world to life in a whole new way for Prime Video subscribers around the world “According to Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios.
Similarly enthusiastic as Sanders is the co-president of Sony, Jason Clodfelter, who is producing the R-rated animated film revival. He praised the original film as “another irreverent comedy from the amazing comic minds of Seth and Evan.” To quote the producers: “When Annapurna, Seth, and Evan asked us to completely reimagine the project as a television series, we were pleased to be a part of the partnership and equally happy to have Prime Video as our partner.”
