Recent speculations suggest that Spider-Man 4 might reach theatres as early as July 2024, which sounds like an improbable timeline.
The fourth movie for Marvel’s golden child is reportedly scheduled for a summer 2024 release, as reported by The Cosmic Circus. Many of Marvel’s major characters will have new movie outings in the coming years, but might an early comeback from Peter Parker prompt another change?
If the claim that Marvel and Sony are sneaking Spider-Man 4 into the July 12, 2024 window is accurate, then there will be just two weeks between the release of that film and the previously slated release of Thunderbolts.
Two months following the May 3 release of Captain America: New World Order, Blade and Deadpool 3 would debut in their new timeslots on September 6 and November 8, respectively.
It’s conceivable, but it seems doubtful that Marvel Studios would release two movies so close together, particularly because releasing Spider-Man 4 so soon before Thunderbolts would undoubtedly hurt the latter’s box office performance.
However, if Spider-Man 4’s plot doesn’t fit into Marvel Studios’ established plan for the MCU at this early stage, there may be additional back-and-forth between Marvel and Sony before a final decision is made.
Even if this turns out to be nothing more than a rumour, it’s clear that Spider-Man 4 is on everyone’s minds. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Spider-Man films consistently bring in massive crowds, as was evident during the Covid pandemic when Spider-Man: No Way Home became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Kevin Feige and others have discussed Tom Holland’s Spider-significance Man to the MCU, and in the Spider-Man: No Way Home mid-credits scene, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock left a remnant of his symbiote self in the MCU, suggesting a new version of Venom will also be introduced in Spider-next Man’s outing.
