by Hailey Greg

Jesse Ehrman, a longtime employee of Warner Bros., is switching departments. The Burbank-based studio has elevated the executive to the president, production and development.

After Courtenay Valenti’s departure, he’ll be filling that position. In addition, Warner Bros. Pictures also announced the promotions of Cate Adams, Peter Dodd, and Sheila Walcott to senior vice president of production.

Ehrman has been employed by the production company for 16 years and has contributed to films such as The Hangover Trilogy, Space Jam 2, Ready Player One, and Ocean’s 8.

He’s now producing movies, including “Minecraft,” “Ocean’s 8,” and “Coyote vs. Acme.” In his new role, the executive will manage the live-action development team and budget at Warners, reporting directly to Michael DeLuca and Pamela Abdy, the studio’s film leaders.

When we last saw him, he served as executive vice president of production. Kevin McCormick still serves in this capacity, collaborating closely with Ehrman.

Warner Bros. Pictures also announced the promotions of Cate Adams, Peter Dodd, and Sheila Walcott to senior vice president of production. Adams has been with Warners for almost a decade. During that time, he has supervised the development of movies including The Nice Guys, Tomb Raider, and The Meg, as well as the upcoming projects Magic Mike: The Last Dance, Barbie, The Meg 2, and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Dodd joined Warners in 2018 and has since supervised the production of films including King Richard (nominated for an Oscar) and Bong Joon Ho’s next feature.

In January of this year, Walcott returned to Warners as vice president of creative development, which he had held from 2017 to 2020.

Her resume boasts such diverse titles as “In the Heights,” “Ocean’s 8,” and the forthcoming “The Color Purple” musical and “Godzilla vs. Kong” sequel. DeLuca and Abdy, the new heads of Warner Bros. Pictures, stated in a joint statement, “This new leadership team marks a new era at Warner Bros. Pictures.”

All of these CEOs are exceptionally bright, gifted, and intuitive. Jesse has amassed an impressive body of work throughout his time at the studio, proving he is the ideal candidate to lead our production and development department. Cate, Peter, and Sheila are a powerful development executive trio with complementary networks and skill sets. Having assembled this group, Warner Bros. Pictures is in good shape to carry on its successful 100-year history.
