Lindsay Lohan Talks About a Possible Reboot of Mean Girls

Discussions of Lindsay Lohan often bring to mind the iconic comedy Mean Girls. The actress’s first leading part will debut on November 10, and a new teaser has revived comparisons to Mean Girls. Lohan covers the song Jingle Bell Rock in the trailer, which was also used in the iconic dance sequence from Mean Girl. When questioned about a possible Mean Girls remake or reboot in an interview with Extra, Lohan expressed interest. In response, she said

Lohan hasn’t been entirely out of the spotlight (she had small parts in Among the Shadows and Sick Note), but this is her first leading role since The Canyons in 2013. The actress, who just signed a two-picture deal with Netflix, explained why she chose this film for her first significant role in a decade.

Lohan’s involvement with the streaming service continues with her casting in Irish Wish, set to premiere in 2019. Like her role opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday, Lohan plays Maddie, a woman who suddenly finds herself inhabiting the body of her closest friend. People would also want to see a sequel to Freaky Friday, just as they did with Mean Girls. Curtis mentioned her interest in a sequel during an interview on The View and said that she had previously contacted Disney about producing one.

“I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new Haunted Mansion movie. Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places. So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon.”
