Kelly Marcel has written and produced the first two Venom movies. Now, Deadline reports that she is set to direct Venom 3, which will star Tom Hardy and be made by Marvel and Sony Pictures.
Marcel and Hardy will also be the producers, and Marcel will write the screenplay based on a story that Marcel and Hardy wrote together. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, and Matt Tolmach are also producing.
The plot is unknown, but Hardy will be back as the deadly protector Venom. The first two movies made a total of $1.36 billion at the box office around the world. It’s also unclear if any characters from the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters will join Hardy from his previous movies or if any will join from the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters.
Venom is an American superhero movie from 2018 based on a Marvel Comics character with the same name. It was made by Columbia Pictures, Marvel, Tencent Pictures, and others. It is the first movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and is being put out by Sony Pictures Releasing (SSU). Ruben Fleischer directed the movie, which was written by Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg, and Kelly Marcel.
Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock and Venom, and Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott are also in it. In the movie, Brock, a struggling journalist, gets superpowers when an alien symbiote named Venom takes over his body. Venom is from a species that wants to invade Earth.

The first movie was directed by Ruben Fleischer, and the most recent one was directed by Andy Serkis. But Marcel has been there since the beginning to help plan out Venom’s journey. Insiders say that Hardy and Marcel have always had the same ideas about how to shape Venom’s story. They also say that the two were on the same page about where they wanted to go with the last chapter.

Early this year, Hardy said on his social media accounts that Marcel was back at work on the script. As the two worked on the story, sources say it became clear that Marcel should also be in charge of directing.
Before he helped build the Venom universe, Marcel was best known for writing the first Fifty Shades of Grey movie, which helped get the series off the ground. She is represented by Casarotto Ramsay & Associates and WME.
