Hollywood studio Universal is developing a biopic on Snoop Dogg

There are plans for a Snoop Dogg film. THR reports that Snoop is working with Universal Pictures to do a movie on his life. The screenplay is being written by Joe Robert Cole and Ryan Coogler, the duo behind the next Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Allen Hughes, who has previously made films as a co-director with his brother Albert on projects like Menace II Society and Dead Presidents and as a solo director on projects like Broken City and The Defiant Ones, will oversee this picture.

Even more so, Universal Pictures has verified the story on Twitter with an official statement that says, “What’s his name? Snoop Dooogggyyy Doooooggg. That’s right, we’re partnering with the Dogg Father himself, Snoop Dogg, to bring his legendary life story to the big screen.”

Because of Snoop’s personal involvement, the biopic will include his genuine songs from his discography. The actor and rapper are one of the film’s three producers, along with Howard Hughes and Sara Ramaker. He said that he has been working on the biography for a long time, but that actual development on the project has only begun now that he has found the right people to work on it with him.

Snoop explained, “I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen and the memory that I’m trying to leave behind. That union fulfilled all expectations. Instead of holy macaroni, it was a holy marriage.

Since Snoop Dogg is undeniably one of the most important and prosperous artists in hip-hop history, he deserves his own biography. Since bursting onto the scene in the early 1990s, he has sold in excess of 35 million records throughout the globe. Snoop’s 19th studio album, BODR, was released earlier this year, showing that he is still actively making music. Snoop has won the hearts of many people who aren’t acquainted with his hip-hop work because of his countless cameos in movies and TV series throughout the years.
