Eternals' Confirmed by Marvel Studios

Nate Moore has just confirmed the Eternals’ continued presence in the MCU. Premiering in 2021 and directed by Chloé Zhao, Eternals brought spectators to a new cast of heroes, as well as a more serious tone and unique aesthetics, although its plot and overall duration garnered mixed reviews from critics.

The film follows the eponymous band of immortals, established by the Celestials, as they reunite after a long time apart in an endeavor to save humanity from their evil doppelgangers the Deviants and a cosmic catastrophe called the Emergence. There’s a ton of big names in the cast, such Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Kit Harington, Angelina Jolie, and Salma Hayek.

Those who were apparently angered by Marvel Studios’ efforts to expand diversity voiced strong opposition to Eternals before its debut. Several nations exercised censorship because of concerns over the film’s depiction, which combined with the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, led to lower-than-expected box office receipts.

The film had one of the biggest opening weekends of all time, but its $400 million domestic gross was less impressive than that of the following month’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Despite some viewers’ complaints that Eternals didn’t fit in with the rest of the MCU and that it had to focus on building too many characters, the film was widely regarded as a success and a high point for Phase 4. Since the finale set up at least one sequel and introduced Harry Styles’ Eros, it is unclear when we may expect to see the Eternals again.

Nate Moore has now confirmed the Eternals’ continued presence in the MCU in an interview with Phase Zero. The 2021 picture will include their return, as confirmed in a YouTube interview with Marvel Studios’ vice president of production and development, who also produced the film. Moore says, “I don’t want to reveal anything, but we have not seen the last of those people.” when asked whether there would be an Eternals 2.

The Eternals’ potential return is thrilling news that might pave the way for some amazing future alliances. The MCU may be able to develop this enormous cast even more if Eternals 2 ever comes to fruition. For those who want to know more about the Eternals and when we could see them again, there will be future updates and perhaps Easter eggs to keep them satisfied.
